No computers in this episode, but a nice depiction of lock-picking. One of the rare occasions where the picking is done the right way. I wouldn't be surprised if Jonny Lee Miller (the actor) knew how to pick locks in real life.
Note, that Holmes inserts the torque wrench first, and then pushes the individual pins over the sheer-line with his pick.

Another technique, "bumping", has become very popular after the MIT guide has been released. It is most of the time more efficient and faster than Holme's approach.
